Confessions from an inmate: Identity part 2

Title: Identity in Christ: Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of the Idenity in Christ series. I hope that you were blessed by the first installment of this series, and my prayer is that this entry will continue to bless you.

As you read through these, I want you to take special notice of the "tense" of most of these descriptions. They are all either in the completed past tense or the continuing present tense. We are all these things, and God made it so long ago.

11. You are a CITIZEN OF HEAVEN - Philippians 3:20 - "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ."

12. You are CLEAN - John 15:3 - "Already you are clean because of the word I have spoken to you."

13. You are a CHILD OF GOD - Romans 8:16 - "The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God."

14. You are CHOSEN - 1 Thessalonians 1:4 - "For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you."

15. You are COMPLETE - Colossians 2:10 - "And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power."(KJV)

16. You are DELIVERED FROM THE POWER OF DARKNESS - Colossians 1:13 - "He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transfered us to the kingdom of his beloved Son."

17. You are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW - Romans 7:6 - "But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held..."(KJV)

18. You are the ELECT OF GOD, HOLY AND BELOVED - Colossians 3:12 - "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering." (KJV)

19.You are FORGIVEN - Ephesians 1:7 - "In him we have redemption through the blood, the forgiveness of our tresspasses, according to the riches of his grace."

20. You are FREE - Romans 8:2 - "For the law of the Spirit of Life has set you free from the law of sin and death."

Praise God for all the wonderful things He has done for us Thank you Father that through your Word we can know exactly how you see us and therefore, how we truly are.
