This entry is the first in a series designed to help you realize what your new idenity is in Christ. Today's media and society bombard us with messages that "what we feel" defines our idenity. I want you to know that as Christians, we have a sure idenity and God's Word tells us all about it.

This series tells us who we are in Christ. Before you say you don't know if you are in Christ, here is what the Word says about it. 1 Corinthians 1:30 says, "And because of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and sanctification and redemption,"

Before I get to the list, I want to share a warning with you from 1 Peter 5:8. "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lin seeking someone to devour." Satan will try to steal these truths from your hearts. If he can't do it out right he will lie to you and tell you that you are the exception; that promise doesn't apply to you; that's not your real idenity. Remember friends, Satan is a LIAR. God's Word is TRUTH.

1. You are ALIVE WITH CHRIST - Romans 6:8 - "Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him."

2. You are an AMBASSADOR FOR CHRIST - 2 Corinthians 5:20 - "Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us..."

3. You are ANOINTED - 1 John 2:20 - "But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you have all knowledge."

4. You are BLESSED - Ephesians 1:3 - "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places."

5. You are BOLD - Proverbs 28:1 - "The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion."

6. You are BORN AGAIN - 1 Peter 1:23 - "Since you have been born again, not of perishabl seed, but of imperishable, through the living and abide word of God."

7. You are BOUGHT WITH A PRICE - 1 Corinthians 6:20 - "for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."

8. You are BROTHERS (SISTERS) - Matthew 23:8 - "...for you have one teacher and you are all brothers."

9. You are CAPABLE - Philippians 4:14 - "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

10. You are a CHILD OF GOD - John 1:12 - "But t all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." (See also Romans 8:16 and Ephesians 1:5)

I pray that you will be encouraged by reading part one of our identity in Christ. Carry these truths and meditate (think on) on these wonderful truths God has given us in his word.
